Osobiście zawsze rozpoczynam głodówkę w dzień w którym dokonuję podmian (pielęgnacji) w zbiornikach i przedłużam ją o kolejny dzień u roślinożerców u ryb mięsnych głodówka tylko w dzień podmiany wody (chociaż jak by ją przedłużyć także by nie zaszkodziło). Należy przy tym pamiętać o tym, że nigdy nie stosujemy głodówki u narybku.

Ja uważam, że rybki i tak mają stres przy porządkach, więc nie.Głodówka jest dodatkowym minusem. Lepiej rób np. załóżmy w sobotę.

Tutaj zupełnie się nie zgodzę, co prawda umiejętnie prowadzone prace pielęgnacyjne przy zbiorniku nie powinny wywoływać u ryb nadmiernego stresu i popłochu z resztą ryby szybko się do nich przyzwyczajają, oczywiście jeżeli wykonujemy tylko te niezbędne prace, właściwie nie przewracając co tydzień zbiornika do góry nogami. Jest właśnie odwrotnie, karmienie zestresowanych ryb może przynieść jedynie problemy, mogące prowadzić nawet do chorób. Także zdecydowanie lepiej jest wprowadzać głodówkę w dzień podmian wody.

Głodówka jest jak najbardziej potrzebna dla zdrowia ryb w czasie głodówki następuje oczyszczenie układu pokarmowego ryb i wydalenie zalegającej treści pokarmowej w jelitach, a także namnożenie flory bakteryjnej i łatwiejsze trawienie w dniach następnych.

Robercie autorem tego stwierdzenia jestem ja, napisałem tak na podstawie rozmów z osobami zajmującymi się dietetyką, oczywiście mam na myśli jednodniową głodówkę, jeżeli głodówka trwa dłużej efekt jest odwrotny tzn. następuje redukcja flory jelitowej i obniżenie perystaltyki jelit i karmienie musi następować bardzo powoli aby nie doszło do niedrożności jelit.
Jednak, że jeśli się mylę proszę o sprostowanie co do reakcji zachodzących w czasie tej krótkiej głodówki, bo co do słuszności jej przeprowadzania u dorosłych i zdrowych ryb raczej się zgadzamy.
